Ghastly place. Looks like a hostel with dirty faded broken furniture. Staff are offhand and grubby. Consultants do their best but have no support. Appalling facilities, coffee machine broken, and when more milk requested, catering staff informed patients that milk order had not been submitted. I could not have bloods done as the only room for doing the tests was occupied by a patient who had fainted. No alternative test rooms.
The NHS Hampshire hospital has far higher standards and frankly Sarum Road BMI hospital is a disgrace. I doubt if it meets the CQC standards and bearing in mind that patients are paying a premium to go here its standards are unacceptable. They are keen to take a copy of your credit card to keep 'on record'. I refused on the grounds that I did not trust their security measures. They also try and get you to sign a 'registration' document which allow all and sundry to access your personal details. I refused to sign this as well.
Outstanding care from all aspects.
The night shift nurses were stressed whilst in for a 4 day stay, resulting in wrong medication being given as nurse had wrong patient notes, another night I had to argue with a nurse about my medication , I was right she was wrong very worrying !!!
Plus out patient nurse on one occasion was not wearing gloves when she treated my open wound
Most of nurses in out patients were very nice and kind
Could not complain at all about the care received here. The staff were all very pleasant and even after I left the Hospital I was contacted by a member of staff by phone to see that I was alright. Brilliant care at this Hospital
I have given my views about Chris Bailey and I can only repeat those words for the hospital and the physiotherapist, the delightful Kath who I forgive for the therapeutic pain.
I am now 3 months post knee replacement. I spent 4 nights in Sarum Rd Hospital and was very impressed with the hospital and staff. The nursing staff in particular were very caring and helped me through the first few painful days with their encouraging words and attention.
Having recently had a very unpleasant experience at a different hospital regarding administration of medication I was impressed with the way in which all drugs were checked so thoroughly.
The only criticism I could have of the hospital was the choice and quality of food on offer.
Irina, [charge nurse] deserves a medal for her patience while I was there.
Cath, [Physiotherapist] also deserves a medal for her support and encouragement.
During my four day stay in the hospital I felt cared for by all the staff. The reception area is welcoming, the ensuite room I stayed in was clean and light. The nursing staff looked after me well, pre operation and afterwards. The tea ladies and people bring the meals were also bright and cheerful. I would recommend the hospital.
The care given by all staff was exceptional,if only I could remember all their names! What came shining through is the professional way they conducted themselves,on all levels . Thank you
I was treated with respect given precise information and the overall staff from reception to consultant were very pleasant .
